Although I would have liked the vinyl version to have been more celebrated with a box set, it's worth getting if you're an audiophile and a fan of Eva Cassidy. The presentation is in a gatefold, 2LPs and digital media slipped Eva Cassidy Nightbird each of the two gatefold openings.
The CDs and DVD are simply slipped into a plain white solid envelope -- no printing or identification on them. Just on the media Eva Cassidy Nightbird. This was a really well recorded gig.
Perhaps, it's a bit on the cool side, tonally, but just a smidge. The CD is actually great sounding. But the vinyl has a bit more warmth and presence. Often the LP creams the CD, as the producers of the CD put that form of the album out for the mass market, but here, they really did the CD quite well. There is no shame in merely buying the CD here, but the vinyl provides that little bit of extra. Musically, it's outstanding. Occasionally Eva does a cover which doesn't sound quite as inspired as some, but it's great to hear her do an entire concert live.
Great performers are DJ Sprinkles Queerifications Ruins Vinyl Sampler 1 their best live, and here she really does shine.
I can't recommend this set highly enough. A quality record of Eva in 3 format. Certainly a collection item. Even better than expected!!! Format: Audio CD. Is the DVD playable in the U. The album was recorded at the Blues Alley club in Washington, D. Some of the tracks had previously been released on the album, Live at Blues Alley.

Highly recommended. Cassidy's interpretative skills had few, if any, peers. Her repertoire outside of the jazz standards and blues lay easily in the memory of anyone coming of age in the s and '90s. Brown originally intended to record an additional duet Eva Cassidy Nightbird Cassidy for his next solo album, but this was postponed due to ongoing negotiations Eva Cassidy Nightbird Dale Eva Cassidy Nightbird other labels for a solo deal.
A Washington Times review of the event called her performance "a show-stopper". She sang two tracks in a mainly instrumental album. It was a musically unsatisfying experience for her. After having a potential contract with Apollo Records collapse when the label went bankrupt, Biondo and Dale decided that she should release her own live album. Due to a technical glitch on the first night of recording,  only the second night's recording was usable, with 12 songs released on the resulting album.
The complete set of 31 songs recorded that night was eventually released 20 years later as Nightbird in Unhappy with the way she sounded due to a cold, she was reluctant to release the album. She eventually relented, on the condition that the studio track "Oh, Had I a Golden Thread", Cassidy's favorite song,  would be included in the release, and that they start working on a follow-up studio album. Three years later, during a promotional event for the Live at Blues Alley album in JulyCassidy noticed an ache in her hips, Eva Cassidy Nightbird she attributed to stiffness from painting murals while perched atop a stepladder. The Cassidy family Eva Cassidy Nightbird Blix Street Records filed a lawsuit against Lourim, claiming that Cassidy's name was used in a misleading fashion and that Blix Street has exclusive rights to her recordings.
