Genius GZA Liquid Swords
As a youth this album was more influential than some history teacher tricknology. One person found this helpful. GZA dropped something with this album that is very rare.
It grabs you emotionally, you feel the intensity of the lyrics in your bones, and RZA's beats set an atmosphere that sucks you into the record. I've got nothing bad Oberon A Midsummers Night Dream say about the album; GZA is really one of the most intelligent MC's out there and sounds like a poetic guru the way he pours his rhymes out on this.
Ol Dirty even appears here and Genius GZA Liquid Swords wonders for Genius GZA Liquid Swords song he guests on. If there was ever a sequel to the original "Enter the 36 Chambers", I'd have to say that "Liquid Swords" reminds me the most of it and in some ways even improves on the original formula. It may have movie samples and talk about the streets but the GZA goes intellectual with his lyrics and has a way of getting you to hang on Genius GZA Liquid Swords every word.
Point is: If you own a couple Wu-Tang albums and don't know where to go from where you're at, go here and you'll love this. Everybody who's a fan of Wu-Tang knows what I'm talking about already most likely. This is an album every rap fan should own in my opinion. Buy it. Vinyl quality crisp and clear. Got a star deduction for poor quality of the case, cheaply glued together. Was falling apart after removing the plastic. Most Rappers can get one or the other right but it's rare when both are so elequenty mastered as they are on this album.
This is one of the best Hip-Hop albums of the 90's. GZA does a great job of capturing something that thousands have tried and failed to do both before and since. This album has a lot of soul while also promoting a message seldom heard in both classic and modern Hip-Hop. This is just an awesome Genius GZA Liquid Swords.
It contains a whole bunch of things. First, there are two records containing the album. Then there are another two of the instrumental versions. Next, there is a booklet with great artwork and all the lyrics. Additionally, the box contains some stickers.
To top it all off, the whole thing is a functioning chess set with a chess board both in the box itself and on the booklet. A set of wooden chess pieces is included.
As for the quality of the packaging, it is great. The box has a magnetic latch. The vinyl in heavy also. This would be a great set for any album, but this album is especially excellent. If you aren't familiar with this album, you need to hear Genius GZA Liquid Swords right away. Every time I introduce one of my friends to it, they listen to it for a week or two at a time. A hard-hitting, influential, hip-hop masterpiece.
