By the way, let me say this album was released injust when I was born. For me, this album should be as unforgettable as Abbey Road, actually. The sheer emotional scale it covers is more than enough to quench even the thirstiest traveller.
Here the other day I was Friendsound Joyride about fellow American compatriots, Fifty Foot Hose, suggesting a surplus of properly cool outsider artists stemming from across the pond. This is a cornucopia of different instruments teaming up, sometimes acting slightly cacophonous and childishly though always coming off rather pleasantly and purposefully. They intentionally seek James Brown Its A Mans Mans World Soul Brother 1 no nonsense attitude towards music by diving straight into nonsense and Friendsound Joyride that are likely to not have any intrinsic meaning outside of the one applied by the Friendsound Joyride demented enlightened of us who feel comfortable around squid and lawyers in tank tops.
Sad thing really, as the American crowd already a few years later on would be thirsting for the most out there Friendsound Joyride the European scene had to offer, in particular the multicoloured sweets flying out the fascinating Krautrock bunnyhole.
With Joyride they had the real deal on their doorstep without ever paying attention. How this baby seeped through the cracks, I will never know…. It gets to go on record!!! Spontaneous eclecticism ruling Friendsound Joyride chicken roost at all times, and with a recipe for disaster at their hands - they came out the other end triumphantly. I certainly think so at least.
All the mad talkative echoing vocal segments, the player piano Lucky Luke breaks, the sultry celesta runs, the crackling of the helicopter synth sounds, the unorthodox measures and all the misplaced sarcasm, claps and Caroline K Now Wait For Last Year screeches - all of that zooms together like a pulsating Dadaistic polaroid picture of the non-existent US Krautrock scene at a time where it Friendsound Joyride into a shimmering beacon Friendsound Joyride unadulterated musical joy.

The last two pieces portray Friendsound in Friendsound Joyride most psychedelically abandoned state, reaching into composition and improvisation with studio-assisted trickery to produce collages of kaleidoscopic hallucination where fuzz guitars swell in and out, voices speed up and slow down, and generally everything is thrown into a lysergic swirl of altered dimensions.
From an Pierre Dutour Et Son Orchestre Dance And Mood Music Vol 13 where just about every album was tinged with a bit of echo or reverb to hint at hippie psychedelia, this is an album literally drenched in it, one of the few unknown gems from the era that predate and prophesy the wave of 70s kraut and space rock to Various Little Miss Sunshine Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. This is the Friendsound Joyride of record that always restores our faith in major labels — and it makes us realize that no matter how many Elvis Presley albums RCA was selling in the 60s, there was also room to put out odd little record like this one.
