Prior to this, on all releases bar Bud Powell The Amazing Bud Powell Volume 1 first, the album also contained a number of tracks from sessions originally on The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. The version of the album Hermann Nitsch Musik Der 80Aktion on the second disc of The Complete Blue Note and Roost Recordingsa 4 disc box set,  is that from the first CD release in Said release initiated the mixing of the session with two sessions from and originally on The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol.
The first digital remastering dates back towhen the album was re-issued on vinyl and cassette, and kept the LP track listing. Inthe album was digitally remastered and released on CD with the tracks listed in session chronological order, leaving five tracks from the session on the volume. Except where otherwise noted, all songs composed by Bud Powell. The album was first released in as a 12" LP. Inthe album was digitally remastered Second Layer Flesh As Property EP released on CD with an extra alternate take of "Blue Pearl", and with the tracks listed in session chronological order.
The track listing was changed back to the original LP order, with the alternate take of "Blue Pearl" following. The Amazing Bud Powell Vol. The album details two recording sessions. The album is critically prized among Powell's releases. Among the more discussed of the album's tracks is the pianist's composition " Un Poco Loco " "A Little Crazy"which has been singled out by critics and cultural historians for its musical and cultural significance.
