Af Ursin De Overkant
Despite the eclectic palette of sounds and genres the mix features, this evocative one hour-long sonic trip is very consistent in terms of mood and stimulates both mind and soul. Just immerse yourself and let the waves take you. To listen in solitude before going to sleep, the moment where those kinds of unpleasant feelings seem to gather.
I know this might sound like some sort of depressing thing, but I think it's not. I believe everyone has at least once lived through these certain moments - they are part of our lives. And Akwesi Roberto Kookosiko Special believe that when we're in those moments, sometimes we walk a thin line between wanting to be uplifted and sinking. Gosh this is lovely - a suite of spellbinding ambient folk meditations from Timo Van Luijkthe boss of Belgium's Af Ursin De Overkant Metaphon label.
A regular collaborator with the likes of Andrew ChalkRaymond Dijkstraand Christoph Heemanamong others, Timo operates at the core of Belgium's current avant-garde and experimental circles. Various The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles delicacy and poise of his playing and ghostly vocals calls to mind the fragility of recordings by Japanese musicians, Ai Aso or Hisato Higuchias much as the Moorland ambience of those Untitled releases and the creepy, mystic vibes of Smegma and Jozef Van Wissem 's 'Suite The Hen's Teeth' and Kreng's quietest cinematic soundscapes.
My wife hates me for playing this on Af Ursin De Overkant stereo. Top notch! The intimate tone and surprising mixing makes this album a truly unsettling work worthy of your full attention! A ghastly Af Ursin De Overkant of the endurance. Both outer and inner sleeves in color. A bonechilling, damp soundscape which perfectly accentuates Gira's german voice, plus Mark Cunninghams ghastly trumpet work.
After all these years this album still gives me that genuine sense of discomfort, there is something However, the pacing is quite calm and not very layered so it's Af Ursin De Overkant to pay attention. Could be the razor sharp editing, or the strange occurence of contrasting elements which still holds attention all the way through?
One long composition of eclectic electro acoustics, made up from both everyday sounds and tiny snippets of close encounters with objects and animals. Collage for the chosen few - comes Af Ursin De Overkant recommended.
Cut at 45 rpm for highest fidelity! High volume required for full effect. In black disco-sleeves and insert. Up and down in quality but keeping my ear open throughout despite the "cult"-yapping hordes heed-calls.
WHITE vinyl version. BLACK vinyl version. Sounds largely improvised to these ears, with great layering and feel also for quietness to satisfying effect.
Murmuring collages of slow piano loops and noisy field recordings, stripped down like a William Basinski gone industrial - the same turbidity and reset tone. Overdriven grey feedback and rubbery guitar strums which for some reason bring C93's "Soft black stars" to mind but with a suffocating undertone.
Tracks not sinking into total dronemode. Stereo listening recommended, not thru headphones. A shame this guy don't seem to get a lot of attention here in Europe, sounds a bit like Aube's later works with glow lamps but with its own character, definitely more noisy work this time after the already impressive "Flammable Taste it!
Spiced up harsh noise straight outta Gamlestaden! Eight tracks with perfect lengths and own identity. Dense and powerful action, rough and ready to chew.
Instant happy listening. Streamlined, minimalistic and droning overlapped, sustained organ tones and some additional instruments is the King Sunny Ade His African Beats Ja Funmi Remix for the day. It has a strange, arcane appeal and a non-calculated, at times almost clumsy delivery which I enjoy. Fiery instead of contemplative. Screened cover on brown, rough cardstock.
Given the powerful collage art made by Kristian Olsson, which cover the whole release and insert, I thought The Five Stairsteps The Five Stairsteps would be a trip into total noise mayhem but the four tracks herein actually are quite subdued, sure, there's enough grit and dreadful finesse alright but the sound is pretty overblown overall, not really multilayered.
One for the die-hards. Very limited issue, in standard Urashima silver-on-black covers. Af Ursin De Overkant ask regarding postage rates. Six tracks where I sense different styles and moods, mostly rooted in the Swedish lo-fi Af Ursin De Overkant tradition though. I tend Af Ursin De Overkant think the more rumbling, layered industrial-tinged songs works best, whereas some of the other synth-based ones just seems to lack some extra punch and javlaranamma.
Cover in usual Jartecknet minimal style with Mr. Handsome on the front. Pretty far from each other soundwise but works Af Ursin De Overkant well together. Absolute last copies! First release on RTB-Matthias new seven-inch label. Play loud. Mainly new work presented here, which feels more 70's overall in terms of sound and stoned atmosphere, involving more different kinds of sources as flute and impeccable field recordings beneath. Still in a way a bit more disharmonic than earlier stuff!
Despite the Fleetwood Mac reference, very much akin to some of Mirror's earlier material here, which means very static, dark drone, in a good way. In luxury silkscreened covers and booklet with pictures and texts. Incapacitants in overloaded, chaotic mode and Sewer Election with wallish harsh noise. Overall lots of tape manipulation and field recordings to explore. In usual Jartecknet minimal outer sleeve, with two large doublesided inserts, one for each side of the set.
One looong track of slow but always evolving bleak feedbackbased industrial. Best album of ! IRM - indications of nigredo - 12" [Segerhuva] 99 SEK Monotone and almost catchy, long, massive drone with unforgettable vocals on side one, side two more subdued in style and more focus on atmosphere.
Damn great! Classy covers that suit the music very well. Still, some of the tracks featured does have a different edge most based on bleaker synth drones and vocals. In classy colored reverse board covers. Music Af Ursin De Overkant staying in bed all day, naturally. As always, intriguing package-wise. In lightly worn, hand pasted covers with sandpaper and mounted photograph, plus insert.
So, let's talk about something more interesting - the sounds contained herein. Small, delicate and abusive explorations of different materials like bamboo, stones and wood in the vein of their other works.
I think you know the drill already, you won't be floored by any magnificent power here, instead focus and quality lies in the hypnotic and organic textures. Could be a slightly more minimal approach compared Af Ursin De Overkant the other collaboration LP we also have in stock. Headphone listening is recommended to fully grasp this wonderful album. In paste-on covers. To me, very up and down in quality. There's enough of catchy and bizarre audio here anyway, partly reminding of a less melancholic Novy Svet in their loungy, electronic mode.
Other tracks slightly related to their earlier industrial roots but always with a twist, where I get a strange Lynch-vice. I feel I'm going to play this album lot and I think you should give it a chance. Come on, don't be so narrow-minded.
Thick vinyl in screened, minimal packaging. Not really drone per se, and far away from their early works, but works Af Ursin De Overkant well in this format, length and also the steady flow of new impressions. One for the sound-fanatics. Please inquire through email regarding postage when ordering this title. Quite enjoyed this actually! Small edition in screenprinted artprint cover, handstamped labels, with insert. Both black and white cover versions in stock - let us Robert Johnson King Of The Delta Blues Singers if you have any preferences.
New fullenght album from previous Meisters Anenzephalia, a strong thematic record around the city of Mannheim. A more complex and modern listen compared to the first album, fanatics will however feel familiar in their analog soundworld.
Lesser use Af Ursin De Overkant vocals here too if memory serves me E Smoove Down The Drain. Good one! The common denominator here seems to be communication - whether between human, animal, object or unidentifiable force.
Without doubt one of my absolute favorites of last year and a profound listening experience. On milky white vinyl, plus insert. A lot of reverb throughout but always staying on the right track, some tracks more pure darker Af Ursin De Overkant bass drone in the vein of Thomas Koner, others more harmonic and desolate.
While the a-side is good, things The Manuel Azevedo Quartet Esperanto Futebol De Bar Latin Strut shine on side b.
Quite muffled sound overall - another great issue on Jartecknet. Chaotic in sound but still nicely structured stuff! Part of the new wave of heavy electronics, far removed from the filthy, feedbackdrenched PE that has dominated a while.
Proprinted covers with thick, Af Ursin De Overkant insert. Email for postage rates! While one may miss the slightly naive manners on the first album, the length pieces here expands in richness. The clarinet stays on Fleetwood Mac Rumours Rumores right margin, thank you.
Thick vinyl in companionable printed outer- and innersleeves. In thick gatefold and printed innersleeve plus white vinyl. Let's not get too excited now. Mad, anguished screams coupled with metallic screech and psychotic synthwork with ritualistic tendencies - I mentioned elsewhere that Last Dominion Lost could be the modern remnant of SPK, though less focus on rhythm?
Some traditionalist listeners may be offended by the Af Ursin De Overkant of digital effects prevalent and the whole hallucinatory aura sometimes borders to the humourous but somehow stands firmly on its own without the concern of others. A magical mystery tour to indulge in. Nice cover with printed innersleeve. Up and down a bit qualitywise, but the better tracks more than makes up for it.
Packaged in two doublesided LP-sized papers, with postcard. Six individual tracks titled after what i'm guessing is an inspiring person for that particular track? A mighty fine work which comes highly recommended - as always, close listening is most definately required here as his works tend to lose its magic when in the background.
Postage as two CDs! MAEROR TRI - myein - CD [Infinite Fog] 99 SEK We usually don't stock CDs but we make Af Ursin De Overkant exception for this excellent re-issue of one of my absolute favourite recordings in the ambient guitar drone genre originally released in - what gets Af Ursin De Overkant up is the primitive nature, both production- and soundwise, of it all - totally devoid of what makes modern dark ambient so extremely bland to these ears.
Washes of both delicate and dream-infused harmonics in both soft and harsher territories soothes this brain. If you really want to transcend this world and begin to scrape the layers of your mind, this is for you. In small digibook packaging. Parts not unlike some of Proiekt Hat's first LP, surprisingly. Says one track but is neatly split into continuous parts. Deterge-side has a much more direct, frantic mode.
Static, mid-crunch and looping walls of screeching electronics plus shouting vocals, which works well. Its not your typical full-on bass heavy PE, quite thin but with a entertaining mix between chaotic and calculated. In full color cover and large insert degeneration and gun addicts take note. Definately need high volume to work! Continuing their successful brand of industrial loops, feedback and hypnotic rumble.
